Chocolate Cake


Chocolate cake is one of the most requested cakes for birthdays. It comes in all form, white, dark, milk, mint, etc.

  • 1.75 cups All Purpose Flour

  • 0.75 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder

  • 1.5 teaspoons Baking Powder

  • 1.5 teaspoons Baking Soda

  • 2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

  • 1 cup Milk

  • 2 cups White Sugar

  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar

  • 2 cups Cocoa Powder

  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla

Pantry Staples
  • 1 cup Boiling Water

  • 2 Eggs

  • 2 cups White Sugar

  • 1 teaspoon Salt

  • 0.5 quarts Vegetable Oil

How to Cook

1. Preheat oven to 350 degree Fahrenheit. Rub butter all over 9-inch pan and sprinkle flour around it. Tap the pan upside down to remove excess flour.
2. In a large bowl, sift sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Create a crater in the middle and add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Whisk the liquid in the middle and slowly incorporating the dry ingredients on the edge of the bowl. Add boiling water last and stir.
3. Pour the batter into the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes. Check if the cake is cooked by inserting a toothpick in the middle, making sure not to hit the bottom of the pan. When the toothpick comes out clean, the cake is cooked, but when the toothpick comes out with batter sticking to it bake the cake for an additional 10 minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean. Cool before frosting.
4. To make the frosting: Cream together all the ingredients till light and fluffy.
