Cinnamon Buns

Description

Cinnamon buns are bread that is laced with cinnamon sugar topped with cream cheese glaze. In North America it is typically served for breakfast.

Ingredients
  • 3.5 cups All Purpose Flour

  • 3 teaspoons Dried Yeast

  • 0.25 cup Honey

  • 2 teaspoon Salt

  • 0.5 cup Milk

  • 0.5 cup Water

  • 2 pieces Eggs

  • 0.25 cup Melted

  • 0.5 cup Butter

  • 1.25 cup Packed Light Brown Sugar

  • 2.5 tablespoons Ground Cinnamon

  • 4 ounces Creame Cheese room temperature

  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar

  • 0.25 cup Butter room temperature

  • 0.5 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Pantry Staples
  • 2 teaspoon Salt

  • 1 cup Milk

  • 0.5 cup Water

  • 2 large Eggs

  • 0.5 cup Melted

How to Cook

1. Combine all dry ingredients for dough, flour, yeast, and salt in a large bowl.
2. In a microwave safe bowl, add milk, water, honey, and butter. Heat for 1 minute, stir and check if the butter has melted, if not heat for another 30 seconds until butter has melted. Cool for 20 minutes or until mixture is warm.
3. Add eggs and stir continuously till combined. Stir in dry ingredients until it resembles a wet dough. Cover the bowl loosely with a plastic and let the dough rise for 2 hours. Then transfer to the refrigerator and keep cool for 8 hours minimum, it can be refrigerated for 3 days
4. Take the dough out of the refrigerator and rest for 30 minutes in room temperature.
5. Combine all ingredients for cream cheese frosting.
6. Combine all ingredients for the filling.
7. Divide the dough in half and roll each dough into a rectangular shape with 1/4 inch thickness.
8. Spread the filling over the dough. Leave a narrow margin around the edges bare. Roll tightly and cut 2 inches thick. Arrange the cinnamon buns in a pan and rest for 30 minutes – 1 hour or until it puffed up.
9. While waiting for the dough to rise, preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Bake the cinnamon buns for 40-45 minutes or until the edges are golden brown in color.
10. Rest the hot cinnamon buns for 15 minutes and pour the frosting before serving.
